Getting great photography is important, but more often than not without a little post-production your photography won’t be great.
There are dangers though when it comes to post-producing your imagery. Do too much to it and it will look fake, too little and you won’t have the best image possible. Then you have to think about your branding, your look and make sure the production on each image is the same so that you get a consistent look across your collections.
For these reasons it is unlikely that any product photography will be left completely untouched, so we have put together a short list of 5 of the most common mistakes people make and how to avoid them.
Increasing conversion online is all about creating confidence in the customer that they know exactly what they are getting.
With clothing an important part of that is making sure the customer understands how it would fit them. Which is why many brands shoot their clothes either on mannequin or on model (with the exception of childrenswear). It gives an accurate representation of how the clothes look on a person’s body, and gives the consumer an idea as to what they might look like in it.
However, it isn’t all that simple. To get that 3D effect without the mannequin or model in the image requires a gentle touch from a skilled hand.

However, with the advancement of technology online shopping has exploded and consumers are now buying more things online than all the previously mentioned methods combined.
Consumers want honesty. And traditionally the fashion market place has not been a particularly honest place. Plus-sized clothing is often shot on models who fall on the rather slim side. What this means when shopping online for plus-sized clothing is that you can’t get a real sense of what the clothes would look like.
